Diocaesarea

On the 30 km north of Silifke, protected area which is covered by today's Uzuncaburc village was a place of worship of Olba (URA) in Hellenistic period. City of Olba which is known as Ura today is an important settlement area in the 4 km east of Uzuncaburc, Temple of Zeus which people worship in it is located in Uzuncaburc.

However, after the Roman had control over the region, they separated here from Olba, made an independent site with the name of Diakaiseria by giving special importance to the place where the Temple of Zeus is located towards the end of AD I. century. Thus, here all the architectural structures except the Temple of Zeus and the bastion of the city belong to Roman times.

Also, here was used as a settlement area in the Byzantine era.
Diocaesarea, which is connected to Maiden's Castle (Corycus) with a paved way over Olba which is surrounded by ramparts in ancient times, was one of important building of the region with the temple and other residues.
